Scottish Ale

Pumpkin Down

Style:

Some might think they’re out of our gourd for making a pumpkin ale, but our Pumpkin Down is not like the others. The caramel and toffee maltiness of our Piper Down Scottish ale is the perfect backdrop for a boatload of roasted pumpkin. Just before bottling, they add a subtle amount of spice to complement, but not overwhelm, the earthy flavor.

Piper Down

Style:

Piper Down Scottish Ale hits all the right notes for the Ballast Point Bagpipe Corps that inspired it. They created this very low hopped, malty ale for the band to enjoy using UK Maris Otter malt, roasted barley, UK hops and low fermentation temperatures. Then they let the brew’s sweet complexity build over a three-hour boil. Full of roasted caramel flavor, it’s a pub classic with Ballast Point personality.

Christmas Ale

Style:

In contrast to many other seasonals, Bell's Christmas Ale doesn't contain any spices: all of the dry, toasted notes and subtle toffee flavors come from the 100% Michigan-grown barley. The brew stands as a smooth, highly drinkable beer intended to complement holiday menus, not overshadow them.
