Alaskan Brewing Co.

Alaska has a rich history of brewing. From the explorers of the 1700s through the Gold Rush, many a thirsty Alaskan has been able to enjoy locally made beers. In 1986, 28-year-olds Marcy and Geoff Larson reignited that tradition when they opened the Alaskan Brewing Company, the 67th brewery in the country and the first brewery in Juneau since Prohibition. Alaskan beers reflect many of the same characteristics of beers that were brewed in Alaska during the gold rush era. From the historically based Alaskan Amber recipe to alder-smoked malts and Sitka spruce tips, Alaskan beers reflect Juneau's local brewing history and innovation.

American Vintage Beverage Inc

American Vintage Beverage makes what is arguably the most refreshing margarita in the world. Today, Cayman Jack has become more of a mindset. The small group of brewers are obsessed with natural ingredients and determined to create unique products that reinvent refreshment. High fructose corn syrup and 10 syllable flavor names aren’t for them. They create drinks that they would love to drink, and hope you do too.

Angry Orchard Cider Company

Angry Orchard initially launched products as part of a trial run in New England, New York, Maryland, and Colorado. After a positive response from cider drinkers, Angry Orchard's parent company, Boston Beer, took the product national in 2012. In making Angry Orchard, Boston Beer blends “Italian culinary apples from the Alpine foothills with French bittersweet apples from Normandy.” Bittersweet apples are sometimes described as “angry,” and presumably, that partly inspired this cider’s brand name. Sometimes Nigerian ginger is used as an ingredient, and the whole line-up is oak-aged for “optimal complexity and balance.”

Ballast Point

After developing a taste for beer in college, founder Jack White decided to try making more interesting beer than he could find in the store or at a keg party. Jack, along with his college roommate Pete A’Hearn, began home brewing in their apartment at UCLA. In 1992, Jack opened Home Brew Mart and his plan was to one day take this hobby to the pro level and start a brewery. In 1996 Ballast Point Brewing was born with the addition of a “back room” brewery behind the shop. Today, Home Brew Mart remains in its original location, but a larger production brewery in Scripps Ranch exists as well. Ballast Point is the perfect balance of taste and aroma. With an obsession with ingredients and an exploration of techniques, Jack and Pete still are fascinated by the process that leads them to the result on store shelves. What started as a small group of home brewers, who simply wanted to make a better beer, evolved into the adventurers known today as Ballast Point.
